Cala Agulla

Cala Agulla is located along the northwest coast of the island of Majorca, a few kilometers from the town of Capdepera.

It is a medium-sized bay, very picturesque because it is far from the urban agglomeration. It is surrounded by patches of vegetation and rocky relief.
The seabed is sandy type, with stones.
The best place to stay at anchor with one’s boat is in the center of the bay, with a seabed depth of about five meters.
The winds affecting the bay come mainly from the north, northeast and southeast. Those from the south are not particularly incidental, while in the case of air currents from the northern area, great care is urged, as these winds can affect the safety of anchoring in the bay.

Cala Agulla beach is located at the bottom of the cove. At 500 meters long and 50 meters wide, it is the largest beach in the entire Capdepera area. The width of the beach can increase or decrease by as much as ten meters, depending on where the currents come from.
It is a beach with fine, light-colored sand, where you can find toilets, showers, and where you can rent beach equipment (umbrellas, beach chairs). The width of the beach, the possibility of finding equipment to rent, and the ease of access make this beach a popular destination in the summer season.

Restaurants, stores and hotels can be found around Cala Agulla.
This bay, along with neighboring Cala Moltò and Cala Mesquida, was proclaimed in the 1990s as a Natural Area of Special Interest by the government of the Balearic Islands. Cala Agulla is separated from Cala Moltò by a small isthmus of rock.

A little further north is another fairly acclaimed cove on Ibiza’s west coast: Capdepera is just under two kilometers from Cala Agulla, while the nearest port is the Club Nautic of Cala Ratjada, just under three nautical miles away.
