Description

Cala Portals Vells is located along the coast of the southwestern end of the island of Majorca, in the geographical area of the municipality of Calvià. It is closed in its southern part by Punta de Xisclet and in its northern part by Punta s’Estaca.

The bay is located in a semi-urban area, divided into several smaller inlets and offers various spots suitable for anchoring. Its waters are crystal clear, while the seabed is good tenors and consists of sand and seaweed.

Entering the bay, on the left, you will immediately encounter the cove of Sa Caleta de Portals Vells, surrounded by beautiful pine forests. It has a small beach of light-colored sand where, in summer, it is possible to rent beach umbrellas and deck chairs. Access to the cove can also be by land, leaving your vehicle about 200 meters from the beach and then walking along the path that runs along the bay.
Near Sa Caleta it is possible to anchor in a good tenor bottom, with a depth of about five meters. This inlet is open to south and southeast winds.

In the innermost part of Portals Vells Bay, on the other hand, are two other small inlets, divided from each other by a promontory. The left inlet is Platja del Mago (named after the film starring Anthony Quinn and Micheal Caine, which was filmed right here in the 1960s).

It was the first beach in the Balearic Islands where nudism was allowed. This inlet is also open to southerly and southeastern winds and has a good tenor bottom, with a depth ranging from 4 to 5 meters.
Access to the beach by land is via a path. On site, patrons will find a small bathing establishment with umbrellas and deck chairs and a bar.

The inlet located to the right, on the other hand, is that of Platja El Rej. The seabed here is also good tenors, but attention should be paid to the fact that the seabed on the right side of the inlet is rocky in nature, with very little slope (at 100 meters from the shore the depth is still about 1.50 meters). Instead, the best place to anchor is on the left side, near the small dividing headland between Platja del Mago and Platja El Rey.

Entering the inlet, on the right side, there is a small pier with a recessed shape that creates a small landing place where a few small boats are often moored.
Access to the beach can also be by land, leaving your car in a free parking lot nearby and then walking about 300 meters along the shoreline path.
On Platja del Rey you can find a small kiosk where you can rent beach equipment (sunbeds, deck chairs).

The not particularly central location and their small size make these beaches not very popular destinations for swimmers from the mainland, even during the peak season.

The surroundings of Cala Portals Vells are mostly residential and not many businesses are located there. A few hotels and restaurants can be found, while bus stops for regular buses are about 800 meters from the cove.
About 3 kilometers from the cove, on the other hand, is a golf course.
The center of Son Ferrer is about 5 kilometers away, while the center of El Toro is 9 kilometers away (a little further north it also meets Santa Ponça). The center of Calvià, on the other hand, is located about 13 kilometers away.To get around the southern area of Majorca, one may decide to rent a car, but the wheeled public transport service is efficient.
Not far from Cala Portals Vells, continuing north, is another beautiful bay on the southeastern Majorcan coast: Cala Xada.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! Tuttobarche.it is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the Tuttobarche.it portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
