Es Canutells

Es Canutells is a bay located along the southern side of the coast of Menorca, not far from the town of Mahon. It is also known by the name Cala Canutells.

It is a narrow and sinuous shaped bay, surrounded by high steep cliffs, covered with thick Mediterranean vegetation, which can reach up to 70 meters in height. This stretch of coastline is characterized by the presence of numerous caves (some of which are close to Cala Canutells beach).
The seabed is sandy, with seaweed, with rocks present in the more lateral areas. The waters are crystal clear and shallow.
The seabed is good tenors and suitable for anchoring. However, attention should be paid to the possible presence of currents from quadrants II and III, which can make it difficult to stay at anchor. The prevailing winds are generally from the southeast.

The presence of some rocks on the seabed can make it difficult for boats of significant draft to stay on the left side of the bay. The shallow waters however make mooring in the bay suitable only for relatively small boats.

Es Canutells beach is about 60 meters long and is composed of fine sand. From the beach, looking to the left, you can catch a glimpse of the urban core of Es Canutells.
On the left side of the beach, there is an area dedicated to the storage of small fishing boats.
The beach is also easily accessible by land, leaving your car in the free parking lot nearby and then following the stairs and path that lead up to the beach.

A bar-restaurant can be found on the beach.

A few hotels and restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity of Es Canutells, as well as a car rental agency.
The town of Mahon is about 10 kilometers away. Heading up north, one encounters another highly accorsed bayCalaCoves.
