Baia di Positano

Positano Bay is one of the most famous inlets on the Amalfi Coast.

Near Marina Grande beach there is a dock with an iron pier. Docking in this area is allowed only in the first 38 meters of the dock, and only scheduled hydrofoils and ships authorized for tourist transport are allowed to dock there.

For pleasure boats, however, it is possible to moor at the buoy near the town’s main marina (300/400 meters from the beach), in areas equipped by local mooring cooperatives. The cooperatives also provide a transfer service to the shore for customers who do not have a tender on board or who want to use it to disembark
In any case, it is not possible to moor in the area adjacent to the dock and care must be taken not to occupy the route of hydrofoils or obstruct their navigation.

There are no fueling areas or food outlets in the immediate vicinity of the landing. However, restaurants, stores and a fuel pump can be found in the Marina Grande area.

Alternatively, it is possible to give anchor near the beaches of Fornillo (west of Marina Grande), Arienzo and Laurito (east of Marina Grande).
However, it is strongly discouraged to moor near beaches in quadrant II and III winds.
Whether you choose to moor at the buoy or give anchor in the bay, it is definitely worth going ashore and visiting Positano, a paradise of colors, majolica domes and fragrant gardens overlooking the sea.

Marina Grande offers a spacious beach (as well as several clubs and businesses) and is the starting point for many excursions along the Coastal routes. The smaller beaches (Fiumiciello, Fornillo) are very picturesque and generally less crowded than Marina Grande.

Climbing to the top of the village, one enters a small labyrinth of narrow streets and stairways, discovering the small glimpses of sea views and the many local craft stores.

The bay of Positano is an ideal starting point for setting sail to the other destinations on the Amalfi Coast, all of which are within easy reach. For those who do not wish to make use of the boat, it is also possible to reach Amalfi and the Sorrento Peninsula by using the regular buses that pass through the town.
Sorrento is 14 miles from Positano Bay.To reach Agropoli, one of the first landings on the Cilento Coast, the journey is about 28 miles.

For hiking lovers, Positano is also one of the ideal places to venture along the Path of the Gods. You start from the hamlet of Nocelle and walk along a path of unspoiled nature, poised between sky, sea and land.
