Enclosed to the south by Cap de Breganรงon and its fort,Anse de Cabasson is part of the greater Anchorages de Hyรจres Anchorages
To regulate the parking of recreational boats in the area-especially with regard to the summer season-the Var authorities have established an organized mooring area in the central-southern part of the bay, which can accommodate up to a maximum of 25 units at the same time and where anchoring with a dead body is prohibited in case of the presence of a posidonia meadow on the seabed.
The bay, iin general, offers no shelter from westerly winds, while it is well sheltered from northerly and easterly currents, although the sandy bottom is not exceptionally seaworthy. However, the most sheltered part of the anchorage is the southernmost part, which enjoys the natural shelter of the Cap de Breganรงon.
The bay offers two main beaches.
The southernmost one is the Plage de Breganรงon, closest to the summer residence of the President of the French Republic.
The beach stretches for about 250 meters, consists of sand mixed with stones, and is surrounded by verdant vegetation.
Those who decide to stop on these shores can admire a beautiful view of the Giens promontory on the right and of the Fort de Breganรงon promontory to the west.
It enjoys the presence of a nearby paid parking lot for cars.
By contrast, the northernmost beach is Plage de Cabasson, which is separated by a thin rocky strip from Breganรงon Beach. It is a beautiful sandy beach, almost 400 meters long, where you can enjoy the pleasant shade created by the surrounding palm groves and pine forests. Near the beach is also presents an area equipped for picnics.
It is a popular beach in the summertime, and part of the credit for its celebrity also goes to the fact that it is accessible to people with disabilities. Nearby car parking (with mandatory payment), the presence of toilets, showers and a restaurant make it a popular destination even for families with young children.
The area offers both a private beach establishment where you can rent beach equipment and large public areas where you can set up freely.
In summer there is a first aid station on the beach.
From here you can still enjoy a beautiful view of the Cap de Breganรงon.
L’Anse de Cabasson is an excellent starting point and a good stopping place for those wishing to sail along the coast of Hyรจres and around the islands of the Parc National de Port-Cros.
