Anse de Cavalière

Anse de Cavalière is a large bay on the French Riviera. It is part of the municipality of Lavandou and is located west of Pointe du Layet and east of Cap Nègre.

The bay is well sheltered from the easterly winds and offers excellent shelter abreast of Cap Nègre, an area that is also interesting from a landscape point of view because it is surrounded by high rocky ridges covered with dense verdant Mediterranean vegetation.
Here the Var department has also established an organized mooring area, which can accommodate approximately 40 boats with a bottom that varies from 2 to 7 meters.

This private anchorage area is intended to regulate the parking of recreational boats in the bay.
Even the western part of the bay still offers a fair amount of shelter, however, the opening to the southwest of the bay means that it is frequently exposed to the swell caused by southerly and southwesterly winds, a condition that can make staying-especially at night-unpleasant.

In the central-eastern part of the bay is a large sandy beach that stretches for about 1.4 kilometers, the Plage de Cavalière du Lavandou.

The beach includes both free areas and private establishments where equipment such as umbrellas and deck chairs can be rented. It offers showers and toilets, bars, some restaurants, and spots to rent equipment for sports activities such as windsurfing, beach volleyball, and water skiing. The beach is also supervised in the summertime and houses a medical first aid station.
The area is conveniently accessible even to those coming from the mainland, thanks in part to the presence of a parking lot for cars.

Hotels, businesses, and convenience stores can be found in the immediate vicinity of the beach.
From here the town center of Lavandou and is about 7 kilometers away.

In the western part of the bay-backed by the Pointe du Layet-is a second beach, the plage du Layet, frequented by nudists, which is not far from a parking lot and offers some toilets. A beach restaurant can also be found here.
