Located in the eastern part of Cap d’Antibes, near Port Vauban, Anse de la Garoupe is a popular spot in the summertime for sailing enthusiasts and tourists.
Most of the inlet area is well protected from almost all winds and has a good tenor bottom.
To preserve the ecosystem of this cove and safeguard the purity of the waters, local authorities have organized a “clean” mooring zone in the innermost, sheltered part of the bay, in a field marked by a perimeter of buoys, which seeks to counteract the effects of wild mooring that pollutes the sea and severely harms underwater fauna and flora.
A non-destructive anchorage system has been set up here to allow boats to moor, as you cannot drop your boat’s anchor in the area to avoid ruining the seabed and the beautiful posidonia meadows.
Mooring in this organized area is only allowed for boats that comply with the latest European regulations in terms of pollution and that respect the prohibitions against spilling into the sea.
Landing on the mainland in tenders it is possible to find toilets, various restaurants, bars and a few businesses.
In the vicinity of the Garoupe beach it is also possible to find several hotels where you can stay overnight.
In addition, for those arriving from land, there is also a parking lot for cars.
The beach is quite spacious and is divided among various managers, who offer equipment for spending the day there such as umbrellas and deck chairs.
L’anse de la a Garoupe is a convenient starting point for reaching many resorts on the Côte d’Azur, as well as the other picturesque bays that characterize Cap d’Antibes.
Those who arrive at this cove can enjoy the typical landscape of this region, made up of verdant nature, beautiful cottages and light-colored buildings that contrast with the blue of the sky and the blue of the sea.
There are numerous paths that start from the Garoupe, including that of the shoreline-known as the “Tire-Poil“-which from the parking lot adjacent to the beach allows you to reach the other side of ZIP Code d’Antibes, near the Villa Eilenroc.
An interesting destination is also the lighthouse de la Garoupe, east of the bay, from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of Juan Les Pins.
