Cala Lazarina is considered by many to be one of Corsica‘s most beautiful paradises. Even counted as the pearl of the Mediterranean, this marvelous natural work of art is located in southeastern Corsica, south of Cavallo Island.
The cove is composed of a maze of granite boulders that create in their formation, a set of small bays and inlets, ready to entice boats that want to enjoy the splendid local sea. Precisely because of its particularly rocky seabed and the jagged bill of its coastline, landing at the cove is recommended for good skippers who are able to moor safely.
Peculiar feature that, however, does not deter the many daredevils, who decide to attack the small channels available to them even during busy periods. In fact, in high season, the entire cove sees the influx of many boats from all sides of the area.
The goal is to enjoy the beautiful views and unspoiled nature that so characterizes the entire coastline. This generates the cramming of many boats into a small space and therefore the need to be very careful with anchoring maneuvers. Danger that is, however, facilitated by the fair depth of the seabed and the transparent color of the water.
The whole area is popular with all those boaters who choose to land their boat for the night, giving themselves the wonderful view of sunsets and sunrise. Incredible moments, on the mirror of a heavenly sea.
Cala Lazarina undoubtedly enriches the already rich resume boasted by Corsica. An anchorage subject to great fascination by the pleasure boats that tread the area’s seas, it is often counted as a key stop on the island’s itineraries. It should be remembered, however, that the entire air is often subject to mooring bans. Most famously, the one that came to an end in 1998. Still, it remains a cove to be approached with a sure hand and familiarity.
