The Monastir anchorage is located on the northern side of the small island of Torcola in Croatia. It can hold about ten boats and is quite deep and narrow, although as you go up it the bottom gets shallower.
Because the cove is within an inlet, yachtsmen will find shelter there from southerly winds.
This cove is one of the most convenient anchorages for those who want to visit the island of Torcola where there is an ancient monastery now abandoned after which the Monastir anchorage is named, or to enjoy fish and olive oil, the typical gastronomic specialties of Croatia.
Check out the online pilot book for more useful boating information on anchorages and port facilities in Croatia.
