Cala Giunco Beach
Cala Giunco beach is considered one of the most beautiful and widest beaches in the Villasimius area. We are 125 km from Cagliari, toward the south of beautiful Sardinia. This area of incredible beauty is also called “the beach of the two seas,” due to the fact that the cove is enclosed between the sea and the salt mirror of Notteri.
Often compared to beaches in the Villasimius area, the cove is among the largest and most beaten down as a tourist and bathing attraction.
The particular geographical conformation gives the area two notable profiles for what is more than just a mooring area. Obviously that of an inlet with an emerald sea and finely sandy seabed in summer. And in winter, on the other hand, capable of hosting specimens of pink flamingos that find refreshment in the crystal-clear waters of the Notteri pond.
The sand is white and particularly fine. Peculiarity that goes wonderfully with the blue waters. Scenarios that attract numerous advertisers and photo studios. Obviously, it becomes the main tourist attraction in the area, especially for families.
In fact, the place lends itself perfectly for those who want to spend a part of their vacation seasoned by tranquility, beauty, and even beach services. Accessible by the disabled, the beach has ample parking, night clubs, and refreshment areas for snacks and cool drinks. In addition, being characterized by shallow water, it is predisposed to the rental of patinos and comfortable beach life. The latter equipped with sunbeds, hammocks, umbrellas, boat rentals, and floating beds.
It is easy then, that many boats sailing in the seas of the area, may seek in this cove an excellent tourist mooring. The nearby promontory in which the ancient tower stands, also prompts one to enjoy a sightseeing tour of the area, to the point of enjoying an unforgettable view of the entire cove.
Obviously, mooring near the beach requires great caution. Precisely as a result of the shallow waters and lively beach life. However, there are many small sailboats visiting the place, also in search of more recreational activities. Specifically surfing activities thanks to the southeast wind, which forms attractive waves.
