Cala Liberotto

The anchorage of Cala Liberotto is one of the most beautiful and evocative in the Gulf of Orosei thanks to its beautiful beaches of fine white sand with a sloping seabed. The area surrounding it and from which it takes its name is a hamlet of the municipality of Orosei, about 11 km from the municipal center.

This anchorage begins a little north of Sas Linnas Siccas from which several sandy beaches originate, interspersed with rocky headlands that give rise to a coastline with jagged sections of beautiful pink granites. Before reaching these headlands, the beach offers hundreds of meters of sand to bathers despite being a relatively narrow coastline.

The headland divides this stretch of coast into two beaches, Cala Liberotto and Cala Gienpro, thus offering the yachtsman or tourist in general one of the most beautiful parts to explore. In fact, one can only get to this area on foot by crossing paths or via the beach and through the rocks.

The cove consists of light-colored coarse-grained sand bottom mixed with outcropping rocks. Behind it is the Sos Alinos pond with typical reed and agave vegetation and a pine forest that makes for a shady lunch with 4 to 5 degrees less than on the beach.

Prickly pear and dwarf palm trees can also be found in the environment surrounding the beach. Being windswept, the anchorage is also an ideal destination for surfers, spearfishing enthusiasts or simply those who wish to dive and cool off in its crystal clear waters.

The waters of the sea, in fact, a splendid turquoise color and shallow for several meters make it a place especially suitable for children especially with beaches of fine white sand, interspersed with coves and cliffs: in some places the rocky outcrops also allow you to have fun with a few dips in the blue sea.

In recent years, many stacked posidonia algae have been spotted that the forestry department does not allow to be taken away because they are put back into the sea at the end of the season. The area is also renowned for its particularly lively nightlife.

The entire area is a seaside resort surrounded by pine forests of Mediterranean shrubs along the coast, with commercial and tourist bathing facilities where you can rent umbrellas, deck chairs, and skateboards, with sports facilities and swimming pools, and restaurant and hotel services.

The anchorage is accessible to the disabled, also has a small parking lot, hotel, camping site, bar, refreshment point.

The anchorage of Cala Liberotto is renowned for its tranquility, which makes it a place almost stuck in the 1960s when the people of Orosei, Oliena and Nuoro began to consider it as a resort.
