Poltu Quatu is a facility located in an inlet opposite the island of Caprera and the Capuchin islet. To be exact, between Liscia di Vacca and Baia Sardinia. True to its name, which means precisely “Hidden Port,” it extends into a natural fjord that makes it very picturesque and reserved for the boats that moor there.
The structure consists of a set of concrete piers arranged transversely to a main quay. In addition, there is a pier parallel to the fjord, running through the central part. All within a dock that spans the entire area and accommodates numerous stores and services.
The seabed that characterizes the surface is composed of sand and rock and allows as many as 400 berths, with sailing boats prohibited. In addition, anchoring is prohibited. Maneuvering by the way is not necessary, thanks to the fact that the entire fjord is very sheltered and not subject to wave motion. Situation, the latter, also controlled by the speed limit imposed in the area, which provides a maximum of 3 knots.
Poltu Quatu is popular with those pleasure boats that choose the fjord as their tourist trip destination. In fact, the whole facility is famous for its mix of services and by the presence of splendid hotels full of comforts and services for luxury vacations. It is also possible, in addition, to access the beaches in the Grande Papavero and Liscia di Vacca areas.
Numerous, however, are the restaurants offered by the resort and the stores available for those who decide to live between the hotel pool and the tourist life of the fjord. This is certainly not a life of adventure or exploration but a style much more consistent with the profile often offered by Emerald Coast resorts.
Poltu Quatu is thus a wonderful fjord for those seeking the most peaceful and comfortable recreational and vacation life. With services available, without sacrificing convenience, for the most relaxing vacation.
