Rada Cecca di Morto

Dead Man’s Cecca

Anchorages Cecca di Morto is an incredible stretch of sea located between the islands of Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria Isola. A spot on Sardinia very famous for the presence of paradisiacal coves and beaches characterized by crystal clear seas. Cecca di Morto is true to the fame that precedes it, with a clear sea and a seabed so distinctive that it has even been the source of a sad setback.

In fact, the sandy bottom has always had great appeal because of its pink color. So much so that it enticed the many tourists to often take a portion of it away as a souvenir. This has led, over the years, to a fading of the intensity of color on the bottom and the play of light it generated with the turquoise surface of the water. The beauty and charm of the place has certainly not deteriorated, but it has certainly lost that distinctive profile over the years.

Of course, to protect the site, access to the beach is not possible today. In fact, ‘ anchoring is allowed only east of the island of Budelli. Boats that decide to anchor in this wonderful inlet, must be careful of the particularly shallow sandy seabed. Paying attention, above all, to the shoal located in the center of the anchorage.

There are many Sailing Boats that decide to anchorage at the Anchorages to enjoy the splendid color of the surface and the sun beating furiously on the entire surface. The seabed is very rich and is famous for the wonders that can be encountered in diving or for the activity of collecting the many urchins present.

The entire anchorage offers excellent protection to vessels that decide to anchor there, thanks to the Mistral and north quadrant winds.

The Cecca di Morto anchorage is definitely a paradise in the Sardinian territory. To this day protected from the unobtrusive incursions of man, it is still a source of attraction for pleasure boats that decide to visit the place, its unforgettable sea and incredible seabed.
