The sea of the Gulf of Follonica – Cala Martina
Where to spend a wonderful night on a boat in the sea of Tuscany? Cala Martina in the Gulf of Follonica is a small bay with a transparent sea, located on a very quiet area in one of the most special and picturesque spots in the region of Tuscany.
Many tourists reach this beautiful location by boat, dropping anchor and mooring in anchorages to then enjoy a sea and nature that only a region like Tuscany can offer.
The cove is located in the Bandite di Scarlino Nature Reserve, in the Maremma region of Grosseto.
Slightly smaller than the beautiful little golf course of Cala Violina, the cove has clear, transparent waters, thanks to very little sand and a seabed with lots of rock, rocks.
The cove is enclosed between two promontories. Punta Francese is the name of the promontory that separates Cala Martina and Cala Violina.
History tells us that on September 2, 1849, from this bay himself, Giuseppe Garibaldi, in order not to be caught by the French Guards, embarked on a fishing boat headed for Porto Venere. Along the path leading to the beach is a monument.
