Aquijo, il più grande dei ketch moderni

L”unione fa la forza… per realizzare Aquijo si sono messi insieme due dei più grandi nomi della cantieristica olandese, e quindi mondiale, dei mega yacht: Vitters e Oceanco, con in più la prestigiosa firma di Bill Tripp  che ne e ha disegnato le linee esterne e ne ha curato l’architettura navale.
E’ nato così il più grande dei ketch di ultima generazione: 85,9 metri di lunghezza per ben 14,48 di larghezza.

Aquijo ha linee eleganti e riesce ad inserirsi in maniera piacevole nel paesaggio marino che la circonda, cosa che non sempre riesce ai grandi mega yacht a vela, vedi “A“, quella che, senza troppe esitazioni, avevamo definito la più grande ma anche la più brutta barca a vela al mondo.

Questo progetto di Bill Tripp è anche un’imbarcazione che, su esplicita richiesta dell’armatore (che ha fatto seguire sia la costruzione che la progettazione dalla Master Management, una società specializzata nel gestire “casi speciali”) naviga veramente a vela, regala grandi emozioni anche al timoniere. Per questo è stato studiato un apposito sistema di timoneria proprio per trasmettere, in maniera più sensibile possibile, le sensazioni che dalle due grandi pale dei timoni arrivano fino al flying bridge.oceanco 5

Aquijo non è quindi uno yacht a motore travestito e i due alberi alti 90 metri, ciascuno con cinque ordini di crocette, lo dimostrano.

Gli altri principali input progettuali sono stati: un livello di comfort e lusso altissimi (sono previste, non a caso, solo sei cabine per gli ospiti e il design degli interni è affidato ai super specialisti di Dolker e Voges ) e una capacità di navigare ovunque nel mondo, a qualsiasi latitudine.
