Campionato italiano Open Star, terzo successo per Chieffi-Colaninno

Terzo successo consecutivo per Enrico Chieffi e Nando Colaninno, che hanno vinto il Campionato Italiano Open Star 2023 svoltosi dal 1° al 3 settembre scorsi a Viareggio. I due sono ormai definitivamente gli assi da battere della barca a vela Star: si tratta infatti del terzo anno di fila in cui Chieffi e Colaninno si laureano campioni italiani della classe Star, dopo il successo del 2022 ottenuto a Gaeta e del 2021 a Brenzone, sul lago di Garda. Chieffi ha alle spalle anche il titolo di campione del mondo della classe Star, vinto nel 1996 a Rio de Janeiro in Brasile.

campionato italiano open starLa competizione, articolata in sei regate, si è tenuta in condizioni di vento leggero e ha visto sfidarsi ben ventisette equipaggi iscritti in rappresentanza di otto nazioni: Italia, Austria, Brasile, Francia, Germania, Grecia, Olanda e Stati Uniti. Dietro a Chieffi e Colaninno, sul podio del Campionato Italiano Open Star 2023 si sono classificati al secondo posto Valerio Chinca e Daniele Andreini e al terzo posto Giampiero Poggi e Davide Mugnaini.

Al termine delle regate, da Enrico Chieffi, che è anche amministratore delegato dell’azienda di abbigliamento nautico Slam, ha espresso una misurata soddisfazione per il successo al Campionato Italiano Open Star 2023, rivolgendo il pensiero già al prossimo impegno agonistico: «Questo regata è stata un banco di prova importante per verificare il nostro stato di forma e la velocità della barca, prima del prossimo evento, il campionato del mondo della classe Star che si terrà a Marina di Scarlino dal 16 al 24 settembre. Con 100 equipaggi iscritti, tra i quali praticamente tutti migliori specialisti del mondo, la sfida si preannuncia di altissimo livello e dovremo davvero impegnarci al massimo per ottenere un buon risultato».

campionato italiano open starIl Campionato Italiano Open Star 2023, uno degli eventi più seguiti dagli appassionati di regate e yachting, è stato organizzato dalla Società Velica Viareggina e dal Club Nautico Versilia, su delega della Federazione Italiana Vela e in collaborazione con i Circoli Velici Versiliesi e il Circolo Velico Torre del lago Puccini, nonché con il supporto della Capitaneria di Porto di Viareggio. L’evento, cominciato venerdì 1° settembre a Viareggio, si è concluso domenica 3 settembre con la premiazione nella sede della Società Velica Viareggina.
