Pastura fresca o surgelata? This is the question
Parlando di drifting al tonno, un altro punto su cui focalizzare lโattenzione รจ il tipo di sarde (o alici) da impiegare. Beh, senza dubbio alcuno, per realizzare una buona pastura vanno benissimo sia sardine fresche che sardine surgelate. Chi pensa che sia fondamentale lโutilizzo di sarde assolutamente freschissime per ottenere dei buoni risultati, a mio avviso sta sbagliando.
Posso riportare tanti esempi in cui impiegando sarde surgelate si sono ottenuti grandi risultati. Si pensi che anche durante le piรน importanti gare organizzate dalla Fipsas, quali possono essere le finali dei campionati Italiani di Drifting al tonno, ad ogni equipaggio vengono fornite, in molte occasioni, alcune casse di sarda fresca e altre di sarda surgelata.
Eโ certamente consigliabile, perรฒ, affinchรฉ abbiano unโefficacia massima in pesca, che le sardine congelate siano state messe nelle celle frigorifere molto fresche, o comunque in buono stato. Altrimenti, al loro scongelamento, il problema piรน grande in barca sarร il loro odore difficilmente sopportabile!

Su come innescare una sardina, o su quale sia lโinnesco migliore per i tonni, credo che siano state scritte centinaia di pagine e spesi fiumi di parole, perรฒ, sta di fatto che, se parlerete con molti angler in giro per la penisola, incontrerete un comune fattore nei loro pensieri, una comune regola fondamentale da rispettare, ovvero, portare particolare attenzione al โmimetismoโ dellโesca, ovvero alla sua presentazione.
Infatti รจ fondamentale che il tonno incontri la nostra esca tra le sardine in pastura e che, quindi, questa si presenti nella maniera piรน naturale possibile, come una delle centinaia di sardine, o pezzetti di sardina, che il tonno si sta mettendo in bocca con voracitร risalendo la scia di pastura.
Tra le tante varianti, di fatto รจ importante che la sarda innescata scenda con la pancia rivolta verso lโalto, esattamente come le sarde di pastura. Quindi il nostro inganno in realtร sta nel riuscire a camuffare la nostra sardina tra le altre, in mondo che il pesce non ne distingua la differenza e abbocchi senza sospetto.
Generalmente, andremo a pasturare sia con sarde intere che con pezzi di sardina, quindi sarร buona abitudine andare a variare le presentazioni dellโesca, impiegando sia sardine intere, che mezze sardine.
I problemi nascono perรฒ quando la corrente รจ piรน sostenuta, se per esempio stiamo pescando allโancora, o quando iniziamo a scarrocciare troppo velocemente se stiamo pescando in deriva. In questโultimo caso sarร opportuno utilizzare delle ancore galleggianti, o piรน di una, con delle dimensioni tali da consentirci un corretto rallentamento della barca impiegata.
Quando la corrente รจ notevole, puรฒ danneggiare con facilitร le nostre esche e, cosa piuttosto fastidiosa, le fa roteare su se stesse. In tali circostanze, sarร importante evitare il classico innesco da sotto (a pancia rovesciata), che anche io amo molto impiegare quando la corrente non รจ forte, ma che tende a roteare molto in condizioni di forte flusso dโacqua.
In queste circostanze รจ meglio optare per inneschi piรน idrodinamici, come inneschi fatti per la bocca, oppure la mezza sarda โtrainataโ per la coda. Ricordiamo sempre di asportare la pinna caudale della sardina, che in condizione di corrente tende a far roteare lโinnesco. Inoltre, รจ sempre importante fissare in maniera salda lโesca allโamo con del filo elastico, cercando perรฒ di non deformare troppo lโesca.
Unโaltra valida soluzione per rendere robusto lโinnesco รจ quello di inserire allโinterno della bocca della sardina, e per tutta la sua lunghezza, uno stecchino di legno.
Questo ci aiuta ad evitare la rottura della sarda in particolari condizione di corrente e turbolenza e, inoltre, ci permette di avere maggiori chance di cattura, evitando che il tonno, in fase di aspirazione dellโesca, possa strappar via la sardina dallโamo senza, quindi, rimanerne allamato.
