Il mondo dei multiscafi si conferma decisamente sempre molto vivace. Lo diciamo da tempo e la nascita di nuovi marchi e di nuove idee non fanno che confermarlo. In settembre, al Grand Pavois boat show a La Rochelle (sulla costa atlantica francese) debutterร  l’EOS 54, il capostipite di una nuova serie di catamarani.

Attualmente รจ in costruzione alla Marsaudon Composites, cantiere con base a Lorient, la culla della grande vela veloce d’altura francese.
Marsaudon Composites รจ tra iย “big” cantieri dei multiscafi, suoi sono, per esempio, IDEC II (oggi Qingdao) il trimarano lungo 30 metri che nel 2008 ha battuto il record del giro del mondo in solitario portato daย Francis Joyon (record di 57 giorni, 13 ore, 23 minuti e 6 secondi ancora valido) e al Fastnet dell’anno scorso due suoi multiscafi sono saliti sul podio: il trimarano Paradox, il vincitore, e Zed 6, un catamarano TS42.

L’EOS 54 attualmente in costruzione รจ della gamma Classic, ossia quella piรน da crociera, pensata per velisti comunque esperti, privati o charter, pronti a prendere il largo e impegnarsi anche in navigazioni toste in giro per il mondo. EOS infatti non ha nessuna intenzione di far parte del gruppo di catamarani da crociera pura: ville galleggianti dove il comfort รจ tutto. Ma si inserisce in quella fascia interessante di catamarani veloci, ma senza estremismi, come gli Outremere, i Catana…

Oltre allaย  Classic l’EOS 54 sarร  declinato anche nella versione Race, per chi ha in programma rally o regate in stile ARC-Rhum…E In un secondo tempo saranno proposti anche EOS a motore e ibridi.

EOS punta a posizionarsi in una fascia medio alta del mercato, i suoi sono catamarani di lusso con una enorme possibilitร  di personalizzazione. Gli interni nascono a 3 cabine ma sono giร  pronte versioni a 2, 4, 5, 6 cabine.

Il progetto รจ di Christophe Barreau (lo stesso progettista del TS42, molto noto in Francia), l’EOS 54 รจ lungo 16,5 metri e pesa circa 12-13 tonnellate: รˆ realizzato in infusione in vetroresina con rinforzi in kevlar. Ha scafi abbastanza snelli e con volumi non eccessivi e derive fisse ed รจ attrezzato con sensori per il rilascio automatico delle scotte di tutte le vele. Sensori che entrano in funzione se in catamarano supera determinati parametri che potrebbero causare in ribaltamento . Centrale la posizione del timoniere, tutte le manovre sono rinviate in pozzetto.
