The Marina of Varazze is located at the beginning of the western Ligurian Riviera, between Genoa and Savona. The infrastructure consists of two docked piers, the upper and lower breakwater, and a central quay. The entrance to the port faces northeast and is subject to prevailing winds from the north.
Within the harbor basin are 12 fixed docks and 3 floating docks. The wide mooring spaces and very wide channels allow vessels safe and easy maneuvering and docking operations. There are 800 berths available for units up to 45 mt in length.
The Marina di Varazze port is also characterized by its focus on the local population. There are, in fact, pontoons managed by the municipality reserved for residents’ boats, and outside the port a large parking lot with 900 parking spaces has been set up, divided between covered, uncovered and private parking stalls.
The Marina di Varazze port offers its guests the following services
- Boat mooring assistance, 24h after contact via VHF 9
- Port divers
- Weather Service
- Water and electricity service
- Bathrooms and showers
Other marine services offered by numerous private companies such as dealers, brokers, boat rentals, boat repair and storage centers, and craft services are also available along the entire port area.
Along the Via Tornitori bordering the marina are the headquarters of the Sport Fishing Association, the Italian Naval League and the Varazze Nautical Club. Also along the same street, at the premises of the Marina di Varazze, is the permanent exhibition entitled Museo del Mare, which since 2009 has displayed models of boats made by Varazze shipwrights along with memorabilia and photos documenting the town’s long shipbuilding tradition.
The port area offers boaters a wide range of dining and entertainment options including restaurants, lounge bars, stores, and a nightclub. This contributes to a pleasant stay for any age group.
In addition to berths, the Marina di Varazze complex also includes 30 newly developed apartments, all overlooking the ports and designed to be lived in harmony with the sea and the surrounding environment through careful use of colors and materials.
The port is conveniently accessible by car via the A10 highway, and by train by getting off at Varazze station.
