The Marina di Pescara marina is located in the center of the city outside the southern pier of the Pescara canal port and consists of: a 730-m-long breakwater, a 370-m-long sub-billow pier, and the northern quay. It is connected with the airport, The Railway Station and the Highway.
To access the port and forberth assignment, one must contact in advance the “Marina di Pescara” Vhf channel 06 both day and night. A general danger buoy has been placed near the entrance indicating possible bathymetric reductions as a result of storm surges.
It is one of the largest complexes in the Adriatic Sea and has been a Blue Flag of Europe since 1990. This international and highly prestigious recognition is awarded by Fee&Fee Environments to those complexes that can guarantee a high quality system. Due to its strategic location, the most enchanting Mediterranean destinations, such as Croatia, Greece, the Gargano coast, the Tremiti Islands, and the Conero Riviera, are easily accessible.
The Pescara Marina has 1,000 dead-body berths and covers an area of more than 200,000 square meters with a water surface of 107,000 square meters.
In June 1984, construction work began on the Pescara marina. The work took place as the Pescara Chamber of Commerce obtained the allocation of the area and realized a first operational slice of the tourist accommodation facility. In May 1988, the same Chamber of Commerce realized a true internal management body: the Azienda Speciale Porto Turistico di Pescara (Pescara Special Tourist Port Company) to which it gives the task of completing and managing the Marina. Finally, on January 4, 2003, the Pescara Chamber of Commerce conferred the Azienda Speciale Porto Turistico to the Unipersonal Company MARINA di PESCARA A.R.L. with its headquarters in Via Papa Giovanni XXIII in Pescara.
