Vasto – Punta Penna

The Punta Penna port is located about 3.5 miles north of the town of Vasto and has a total area of 1,000 linear meters with 5 docks on a basin is about 90,000 square meters. It is a predominantly merchant port facility protected by two piers:

  • East pier from which about 100m from the end starts, perpendicular to it, the Martello pier
  • West pier that internally contains a brush
  • quayside

The inner part of the landing has depths ranging from 4.50 to 6.80m, and can accommodate 10 boats with a maximum length of 18m.

Mooring of recreational and fishing boats at commercial docks is prohibited:

  • within 50 m of moored units
  • At the west quay during tanker port operations
  • at the breakwaters

Before entering the berth, the Vasto Maritime District Office should be contacted by phone or through Channel 16. Attention should be paid to the strong undertow in ports with the presence of Greek and easterly winds.

Of the Punta Penna harbor complex, two 60 m and 40 m piers and a 220 m long section of quay were granted to Circolo Nautico di Vasto, a nonprofit association that promotes water sports and recreational boating.
