It has a total area of 30000 square meters and offers a good number of services to its sailors. It is a landing with a narrow and elongated shape and is located in Cala Llonga. The landing place has 563 berths for boats not exceeding 25 meters in length, for a draft not exceeding 3 meters. On the pier, boaters can find electricity charging points and drinking water sources.
Access to the ports is allowed year-round, 24 hours a day. The landing site offers a weather service, a wi-fi network, toilets and showers, 24-hour security, and a laundry service. The port area also houses a fueling station, open daily, year-round, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (with a one-hour break between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.). In winter, between November and April, the service is self-service.
The port also offers a dedicated ship storage and maintenance area, with two ferries that can lift 45 and 65 tons respectively, workshops for mechanical servicing and hull maintenance (anti-osmosis and anti-fouling treatments). Testing cannot be presented anywhere in the ports area.
Around the Cala d’Or marina you can find some hotels, restaurants and fast food restaurants. The area is also well connected by the local transport line. There is also a first aid medical center near the landing. Leaving the port area and heading up the coast to the northwest, you will find Cala d’Or, a small inlet with turquoise water surrounded by pine forests.
In the lower part of the bay is a small beach of fine, clear sand, surrounded by pine trees, some white buildings, and stone terraces. In summer you can rent beach equipment here (umbrellas, sunbeds). Keeping the central part of the bay, it is possible to stay on the bottom, on a sandy seabed with rocks and seaweed, with a depth ranging from two to three meters. It is a well-protected bay from the winds, thanks to the presence of the promontory of Punta Citarea, but it is good to avoid anchoring in this bay when there are intense currents coming from the east. It is possible to reach the beach by public transportation, while the adjacent streets offer the possibility of parking your car. Customers who come to this beach can take advantage of the bathrooms, showers, and the presence of a restaurant.
The port of Marina Cala d’Or is part of the department of Santanyรฌ, whose center is about 15 kilometers away. The adjacent natural area of Mondragรณ was declared a Nature Park by the Balearic Islands authorities in the 1990s. It is a site of special interest for fauna, ornithological (gathering more than 70 different species of birds) and prehistoric: some gravel formations dating from the Miocene period can be found here. The natural beauty of the place makes it a good destination for trekkers.
Not far from the Marina Deportiva in Cala d’Or is also Cala Varques, with a fine white sand beach surrounded by low continuous rock walls. The bay’s attractions include a natural rock arch, a beautiful cave, and dense pine forests. Hardly accessible from the mainland, this bay is a good place to lie on sandy bottoms at a depth of four to six meters. The bay is famous for its underwater caves and tunnels, which attract divers and spelunkers, but are also accessible to swimmers.
