Description

The Port de Fornells is one of the ports of the island of Menorca, located in its northern area.

It is located within the Bay des Fornells of the same name, a popular destination for sailors and windsurfers.

Moorings and port activities are managed by Club Nร utic Fornells, which houses a large sailing center and offers three different mooring modes to its boaters

Within the port area proper is the Pantalan de Fornells, a mooring area that can accommodate 31 boats ranging in length from 5 to 21 meters, with a draft that is no more than 4 meters.

The facility was renovated during 2006 and provides its boaters with water, electricity, sanitation and a seamanship service from June to August.

A medical garrison and car rental can be found nearby, and it is in close proximity to the only fuel station in the Bay of Fornells.

Another option is to moor one kilometer further south of the port area and moor along the Pantalan de Ses Salines-a pier built in 2008 and replacing the old wooden-pillared pier-which allows up to 74 boats that are between 4 and 12 meters in length and have a draft of no more than 2.80 meters to moor.

Water and electricity supplies are available here. A seafaring service is also available in July and August.

In the Pantalan de Ses Salines area, the nautical club also has the hub of its activities and has two buoy fields that can accommodate 31 and 20 boats, respectively. To use the mooring buoys in these areas, however, it is necessary to be a member of the club.

A number of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and other businesses can be found in the vicinity of both landing areas.

In contrast, the boat club was renovated in 2010, is accessible to people with disabilities, has a sailboat and kayak storage area, a workshop, and a boat cleaning and maintenance area, all of which are accessible to both club members and outside customers.

In addition, the club has restrooms, clothing, and indoor and outdoor showers.

Sailing courses and training of various levels are organized in the club and it is also the scene of various events and competitions related to the world of sailing and windsurfing.

The beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea and mild temperatures (which become very hot during the summer) make Menorca a popular destination for tourists and boaters from all over Europe.

The island is home to more than 80 beaches, from the larger, fine, clear sandy beaches of the southern coast to the smaller, rocky beaches of the northern area.

One of the most practical ways to get around the island and its hinterland is to rent a car.
The center of Menorca is considered to be the Ciutadella, a town located in the eastern part of the island, with a natural ports and numerous testimonies that have been passed on the island over the centuries.

By contrast, the largest beach on the island is Son Bou beach in the southern part of Menorca, about 25 kilometers away by land from Port de Fornells.

It is a beach about 3 kilometers long, and it is possible to rent sunbeds and umbrellas. In its immediate vicinity you can find various restaurants and hotels where you can stay.

The entire coast of Menorca is dotted with coves, quaint little beaches and caves that are worth a visit and attract scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.

The rich, lush hinterland and numerous marked routes also make Menorca a good choice for hiking enthusiasts.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
