Description

Port Olimpic Calanova is part of the municipal area of Palma de Mallorca and is about seven kilometers southwest of the city center and the city port(about a quarter-hour drive, following Avinguda de Gabriel Roca), located in the cove of the same name.

The port was established in the late 1970s, is affected by generally weak winds and can accommodate up to 221 boats (with some places reserved for passing boaters), which are between 4 and 15 meters in length and have a draft of between 90 centimeters and five meters.
Each berth is equipped with a power station with sockets for electricity and access to drinking water.

Within the port area there is also a refueling point and a 24-hour continuous security service.

The ports also offers a full yard, where customers can have mechanical, structural, and electrical repairs performed on their boat, have its hull cleaned or undergo protective treatments and repainting.

The shipyard has a ramp, a travel- lift that can lift up to 30 tons, and a crane that can lift up to 5 tons.
The harbormaster’s office is open 24 hours a day year-round and provides weather bulletins.
Club guests can use the restrooms, showers, and wi-fi and parking facilities. The area also counts the presence of a few boat rental agencies and a restaurant-bar.

A supermarket, stores, hotels, a bank, a pharmacy, and a laundry can also be found within a few minutes’ walk of the boat club.

The club also has an area for garbage collection.
The cab station and bus stop are adjacent to the port.

The port is also the headquarters of the Escuela Nacional de Vela Calanova.
The school organizes sailing courses for teens and adults, summer sailing and sports camps for children and teens, as well as kayaking trips for groups.
The school also has a residential facility where passing sailors can stay and a swimming pool.

The port of Calanova is easily accessible by land, and-next to the ports area-is a small, light-sand beach.

Many coves and bays line the coast north and south of the port.

Very close to the port of Calanova is Calo des Malls beach, a beach located in the middle of the urban agglomeration but with little parking around it, making it a destination that is not particularly crowded and preferred especially by locals.

Another beach in the surrounding area is Cala Comtessa. It is easily accessible by public transportation (but a free parking lot is located near the beach) and access to the beach is via a flight of steps, making it not accessible to everyone. It is a sandy beach, is surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean vegetation, and there is less urban sprawl than elsewhere.

Majorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands Islands.
Palma de Mallorca is undoubtedly its hub and offers numerous attractions, both daytime and evening, for every age group.
Its Museum of Contemporary Spanish Art is well worth a visit.
The strongholds of evening entertainment are Palma and nearby Magaluf, which, however, offers a more “unbridled” type of fun and is more suited to a very young audience.

To move from Port Olimpic Calanova to the discovery of Mallorca, one may decide to rent a car, but it is good to know that the public road transport service is efficient and very economical (and functional even for evening hours).

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
