Description

The port of Mahรณn, Town main center of the island of Menorca, is the second largest port in Europe, a natural harbor 6 km in length from the mouth to its innermost dock. The area is sheltered from northerly winds, particularly the Tramontana wind, the strongest in the western Mediterranean, which is why from time immemorial, as far back as Roman times, this inlet has been used as a shelter for boats of all sizes.

The ports of Mahรณn, due to its extraordinary size, have very calm waters. If this element is added to the fact that the Mediterranean Sea has no tides, the visitor will seem to contemplate a majestic lake rather than a seaport. Moreover, being anatural inlet, the landscape at its edges is overwhelmingly beautiful, particularly the town of Mahรณn perched above the south coast with its truly distinctive white houses.

Theisland of Menorca is located halfway between Europe and North Africa, a strategic position that has always placed it at the center of the main Mediterranean routes, commercial but also tourist. The port of Mahรณn is structured on all the different areas of the small gulf, with piers used to welcome boaters, as well as cruise and merchant ships, which can take advantage of a well-equipped shipyard for every repair.

The port of Mahรณn over the years has always sought to improve itself, to improve its facilities and the services they provide to tourists. It has recently joined the Consortium of Nautical Stations of Menorca, integrated with the other two main Minorcan ports of Ciutadella and Fornells, with the aim of offering sailors everything they need, both in terms of the comforts that characterize a leisure visit and in terms of emergencies and repairs in case of breakdown.

The Marina of Menorca is a large complex that is not located in one spot in the port of Mahรณn, but rather has several berths throughout the gulf. The main location is the one indicated on the site, the Colarsega moorings, located in the innermost part of the bay. An additional mooring point is located at Cala Llonga, on the Passeig des Mariners. The marina has numerous other floating docks for all eventualities.

Among the many services offered, maintenance constitutes the excellence of this port. The shipyard provides boaters with a 10-ton crane and a 35-ton Travel Lift for onshore maintenance of any vessel.

But the most special service is for engines: an official technical service of the inboard and outboard engine brands Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Suzuki, Honda, and many others among the best known.

More common services, on the other hand, include an overhaul or installation service for radiogoniometers, and more classic carpentry and painting services for the hull and interior of boats.

In addition, an administrative boat management service is in operation, with the possibility for boaters to make loco any changes of ownership, ITV matriculations and revisions, and even insurance.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
