Porto di Pollensa

Pollença is a municipality in the Balearic Islands, located on the island of Majorca in its northernmost territory. Its name may lead one to confuse this locality with the ancient Roman city of Pollentia, today’s Alcudia, considered as one of the oldest cities with the most relevant history in the Spanish Mediterranean. Alcudia was an important Phoenician, Carthaginian, Greek, Roman, Muslim, and finally ancient Aragonese crown seaport. Pollença, along with its ports, San Vicente Cove, and Alcudia, constitute the most beautiful areas in the north of the island.

The ports of Pollença preserve a long maritime promenade and wide white sandy beaches. The Cala de San Vicente, in its vicinity, hosts a complex of coves with crystal-clear waters, located at the foot of imposing and scenic mountains, a decidedly evocative place of great interest to all boaters, who very often decide to stay at anchor in this wonderful bay.

In addition, the area is known for presenting the Alzineret prehistoric cave complex, favored by ordinary tourists and experienced cavers alike.

Writer Agatha Christie, in the early 20th century, visited the city and stayed in a hotel in the Pineta area. Her stay inspired and guided her in writing the work “Trouble in Pollença Bay and Other Stories.”

The main marina in Porto di Pollença is the Real Club Nautico Porto di Pollença. Located in the most sheltered area of the bay, it occupies an area of 23,635 m2 and is protected by a 400-meter seawall. It offers a total of 375 berths, of which 75 are for transit boaters.

The Club offers a wide range of port services, to which it adds a series of sports facilities and infrastructure dedicated to the recreation and entertainment of clients. First of all, it has its own restaurant and cafeteria, which welcome boaters every evening with food and good music. The club is equipped with private parking, a library, and a gymnasium, reserved for members and port clients.

Among all the amenities the club offers, it is fair to mention the swimming pool with the rande sun terrace, open from May to October daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

One of the club’s major goals is to support and spread nautical culture, as well as sports related to it. For this very reason, it is equipped with an excellent sailing school, and in addition, the marina has hosted major sports competitions, such as the World Windsurfing Championship in 1999 and the World Deep Sea Fishing Championship in 2002.

The Club is equipped with machinery and infrastructure dedicated to boat maintenance and repair: Travel lift service, up to 50 tons, and crane, up to 3 tons capacity, is available from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm daily except Saturdays. Reservations can be made by contacting supervisors at marineria@rcnpp.net or by calling 971864724.

Finally, the Club can count on a diesel and gasoline service station open diurnally. From October to June the hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and on Sunday instead from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. From June to September the hours vary, Monday to Friday the gas station is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
