Puerto de Andratx is located at the far end of the west coast of the island of Majorca, in the department of Andratx.
It is a natural port, providing a municipally managed pier in the innermost part of the area and a dock managed by Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx, which is located on the left side of the inlet.
The boat club has 475 berths for boats between 6 and 36 meters in length and a maximum draft of 4 meters.
The municipally managed berthing area, on the other hand, has 222 berths reserved for boats no longer than 15 meters in length and with a draft of no more than 3 meters.
The publicly managed landing place offers essential services to its boaters, such as water and electricity supply at the dock, a fueling station and toilet facilities.
Access to the boat club landing is continuous and allowed year-round.
The club offers a boat maintenance area, as well as a crane that can lift boats of up to 3 tons and a travelift with a maximum capacity of 100 tons.
Club de Vela Puerto d’Andratx’s fueling station is open year-round (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the summer months, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the rest of the year).
By contacting the club a day in advance, it is possible to arrange refueling for boats larger than two tons directly at the berth.
Club facilities include drinking water and electricity supply, a recycling area, weather service, and bilge pumps for gray water collection, as well as a laundry, toilets, and showers.
Upon request, an outside technical team can be used for boat and engine repair services.
The club area also includes a swimming pool and two restaurants.
Throughout the harbor area there are a number of restaurants and bars, and hotels, banks, and supermarkets can be found in its immediate vicinity.
The nautical center organizes sailing and rowing courses and summer camps for children to get closer to the sea.
In addition, the club organizes events, competitions and events related to the nautical world.
Within the bay of the port of Andrax, just before arriving at the Club de Vela, is Cala Fonoll , with its small pebble and light sand beach.
It is flanked by a hotel.
It is easily accessible (even by public transport), but the long access stairway does not make it accessible to everyone.
The seabed of gravel and pebbles make it possible to give fonda in the cove, provided the westerly winds are not too strong.
Leaving the Puerto de Andratx area and heading up the coast, one almost immediately encounters Cala d’Egos, with its small pebble beach.
It is surrounded by other rocky cliffs covered with pine trees and other Mediterranean vegetation.
The cove is exposed to southwesterly winds and the good seal of its seabed make it a destination accorsed by yachtsmen looking for a place to anchor.
Access by land is not easy: it is not possible to get to Cala d’Egos by car, and you have to leave your car in the parking lot of Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx and venture along a path of about four kilometers.
The non-easy access makes this beach an uncrowded place, even in the summer season.
Urban settlement in the area of the town of Andratx dates back to the time of the ancient Romans, who founded a town here in the 2nd century B.C. called Andrachium.
Today Andratx is a tourist resort, with a small center in which to take a walk and some interesting churches to see.
Andratx Castle is a pleasant place to visit, while from Puerto de Andratx it is possible to sail to the island of Sa Dragonera, home to a natural park of great wildlife interest.
