Puerto Deportivo Marina de Cala d’Or

Puerto Deportivo Marina de Cala d’Or is located along the southern coast of the island of Majorca.

It has a total area of 30000 square meters and offers a good number of services to its boaters.
It is a narrow and elongated shaped landing place and is located within Cala Llonga.
The landing place has 563 berths for boats that are no more than 25 meters long, for a draught of no more than 3 meters. At the dock, boaters can find electricity charging stations and sources for drinking water supply.

Access to the port is allowed year-round, 24 hours a day.
The port offers a weather service, a wi-fi network, toilets and showers, a continuous twenty-four-hour security service, and a laundry service.
The port area also hosts a fueling station, open daily, year-round, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (with a one-hour break between 2 and 3 p.m.). In winter-between November and April-the service is self-service.

The ports also offers a dedicated area for boat storage and maintenance, with two travelifts that can lift 45 and 65 tons respectively, workshops for mechanical service and hull maintenance (osmosis and antifouling treatments).
It is not possible to give fonda anywhere in the port area.

A number of hotels, restaurants, and fast food restaurants can be found around the Puerto Deportivo Marina de Cala d’Or. The area is also well served by the local road transport line.
There is also a medical first-aid center near the landing site.
Leaving the port area and heading northwest up the coast is Cala d’or, a small cove with turquoise water surrounded by pine forests.

At the bottom of the cove is a small beach of fine, clear sand, surrounded by pine trees, a few white buildings, and stone terraces. In summer, it is possible to rent beach equipment (umbrellas, beach chairs) here. Keeping to the central part of the bay, it is possible to stay at anchor, on a sandy bottom with rocks and seaweed, with a depth ranging from two to three meters. It is a well-protected bay from winds, thanks to the presence of the promontory of Punta Citarea, but anchoring in this bay should be avoided if there are strong currents coming from the east

The beach can be reached by public transportation, while the adjacent streets provide opportunities to park one’s car.
Patrons arriving at this beach can take advantage of bathrooms, showers, and the presence of a restaurant

The port of Marina Cala d’or is part of the department of Santanyì, whose center is located about 15 kilometers away. The adjacent nature area of Mondragó was declared a Nature Park by the Balearic Islands authorities in the 1990s.

It is a site of special wildlife, ornithological (it collects more than 70 different bird species) and prehistoric interest: indeed, some gravel formations dating back to the Miocene period can be found here. The natural beauty of the place makes it an excellent halfway point for trekking enthusiasts.

Not far from the Puerto Deportivo Marina de Cala d’Or is also Cala Varques, with a beach of fine white sand surrounded by low continuous cliffs. Among the bay’s attractions are a natural rock arch, a beautiful cave, and dense pine forests. Hardly accessible from the mainland, this cove proves to be a good place to give anchor, on sandy bottoms, at a depth of four to six meters.
The bay is famous for its caves and underwater tunnels, which attract divers and caving enthusiasts but are also accessible to swimmers.
