Puerto Portals

Puerto Portalsèlocated along the southwest coast of the island of Majorca.

It is located within the bay of Palma, about 10 kilometers from the city center and 16 kilometers from the airport area.
The landing place has 639 berths, for vessels between 6 and 60 meters in length and with a width of no more than 14 meters.
The draft varies from 4 meters in the area designated for small to medium-sized boats to 7 meters in the area for longer boats.
In the area of the mooring stations, boaters can find running water sources, electricity supply columns, wifi internet line, while a security service guards the area 24 hours a day.

The ports also hosts a refueling station, while- upon request- boats longer than 18 meters can be refueled.

The harbormaster’s station issues weather bulletins, and the port also includes a workshop area for boat repairs and maintenance, with cranes and travelift.
Port customers have access to toilets and showers, a laundry, and garbage collection points.
A parking lot for cars, a bank counter, a supermarket, and a first-aid station are located in the port area.
There are also many restaurants and stores (clothing, nautical goods, jewelry stores, real estate agencies, perfumeries).
Hotels and other types of businesses can also be found in the immediate vicinity.

Puerto Portals also organizes sailing courses and hosts sporting events, competitions, markets and exhibitions.

Abutting the port area of Puerto Portals is Platja de s’Oratori in Portals Nous, a beach located just over d 10 kilometers from Palma de Mallorca. The beach is sandy and has a long, narrow shape, enclosed behind it by high red rock walls covered with vegetation.

Easy access and proximity to the town make it a popular destination for locals: in fact, the beach is easily accessible on foot, by bus, or even by car, parking in a free parking area nearby.

Opposite the beach of s’Oratori you can see Illa d’en Sales.

Given its proximity to the port area, the beach is easily accessible, either on foot, by public transportation, or by leaving your ‘car in the free parking lot nearby.

Fairly favorable access conditions for all make it a popular destination for tourists and locals, especially in the summer months.
The beach is also provided with surveillance to bathers.
The best place to give anchor here is in the area between the islet and the beach, with sandy, seaweed-bearing bottoms and a bottom depth of about 3 meters, in an area that is fairly protected from winds (the only currents affecting the area are eastern currents).
In the eastern part of the beach there are some rocks- emerged and surfaced- to stay away from with your boat.
Anchoring near the islet of Illa d’en Sales is also not recommended, due to shallow waters and rocky outcrops in the southwestern part of the islet.

Also not far from Portals is Son Caliu beach, close to Palmanova. The beach is incorporated into the urban area, and the shoreline has been partially cemented over. Visitors arriving here can use toilets and showers, as well as being able to rent beach attezzature (such as umbrellas and sunbeds). One can get to Son Caliu by public transportation or by car, but the beach is not accessible to the disabled.

Puerto Portals is part of the municipality of Calvià. Its territory is characterized by the presence of many mills and towers.

There are numerous bike paths that allow bike riders to go from one location to another.
