Masuccio Salernitano: the ports of Campania
In an inlet from the Gulf of Salerno opposite the Piazza della Concordia and in the area east of the port of Salerno is the Masuccio Salernitano marina, nicknamed “e;o penniello “e; by locals because it provides a beautiful promenade and panoramic views of the city.
The port’s construction dates back to the 1960s and consists of an elbowed breakwater of about 500m and a large docked apron. At the landing place there is also one of two “Punto Mare” set up by the city’sPort Authority, from which ferries link the Amalfi coast to Capri and Ischia, and the Sorrento and Cilento coasts.
Masuccio Salernitano houses nine floating docks inside it.
- 3 on the shore quay at the slipway granted to the Italian National League;
- 3 on the shore quay at the Radice of the breakwater granted to C.V.S;
- 3 granted to the Salerno Yachting Club.
When on the approach, one must pay attention to the reef in front and the small size of the dock.
