Description

The port of Capri, which is the island’s main seaport, is located within the hamlet of Marina Grande.
This port was built within a natural inlet and is therefore protected from winds and waves.
The interior of the port is also protected by two artificial docks.

The main pier is located to the west, has three arms and is internally docked.
The breakwater, on the other hand, is located to the east, has two arms and is also docked; it is from the breakwater that a number of floating docks depart.

The port is internally divided into two parts thanks to the presence of an inner breakwater pier that creates two distinct basins: on the eastern side we find the area reserved for tourist boats and fishing boats; the other part, to the west, is reserved for the passenger port of call and is considered the more commercial part.

In the eastern basin, the one with a tourist vocation, a dock has been carved out between the breakwater pier, the shore and a two-armed jetty.

Many cruise ships call at Capri because of its great beauty, but because the port cannot accommodate such large vessels, they dock offshore: lifeboats are used as a shuttle service to bring passengers to the mainland.

The port of Capri is located on the northern part of the island, a fair distance from the center of Capri.
To reach the center, however, there are many convenient alternatives: one can choose between bus, cab service or the historic funicular.

The marina offers 300 berths, 30 of which are designated for boats in transit.
Access to the port is allowed only to boats reaching a maximum length of 60 meters; however, boats 30 meters and up must be authorized.

Within the ports, it is necessary, for one’s own safety and the safety of others, to respect the movements of commercial vessels and give precedence to outgoing vessels

Within the ports, sailing at a speed greater than 2 knots is prohibited.
Moorings are with grounded lines or dead body.

Services provided within the ports are numerous.
The docks are lighted and have outlets for drinking water and electricity.
The fuel station dispenses gasoline, diesel, and mixture and is open from 09:00 to 13:00 and again from 16:00 until 20:00.

There is a slipway, a slipway and 3 mobile cranes weighing up to 40 tons.
Indoor or outdoor storage is available.
Engine repairs, electrical repairs and repairs of wooden or fiberglass hulls are also carried out.

Safety is ensured by the 24-hour guard service.
The weather service allows boaters to obtain up-to-date and accurate weather information.
A pilotage service is also active.
Moorings and divers are available in the ports.

Boaters can take advantage of the garbage collection service and the toilets and showers provided for them.
Near the ports there is no shortage of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and ice vendors.
There is also a parking lot and a telephone booth.

In Ostro or Scirocco winds, the nearest safe anchorage is Marina di Caterola; when the Ponente blows, Grotta Bianca is recommended instead.

Some areas along the coast of the Isle of Capri are closed to transit, navigation and the conduct of any other activity.
It is therefore advisable to contact the local Maritime Authority for further information

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
