Porto di Maiori

The ports of Maiori are located along the Amalfi Coast, between Punta Salicerchio and Punta dello Scarpariello.

The landing is formed by an elbowed breakwater and a sub-billow pier.
A number of floating docks, operated by some local cooperatives supervised by the City of Maiori, are set up in the period from May to September for the landing of small to medium-sized boats.
Five places within the area are reserved for transit and are not allowed to stay there for more than 48 hours.

The port offers shelter from grecale and tramontana winds, but where there is a sirocco wind access can be complicated. Where the wind is particularly strong, landing is even inadvisable.
In any case, for those entering the port in a sirocco wind, it is best to keep to the median access area at all times.
There is also parking in the port area for those coming from land and a garbage pickup service

It is also possible to give anchorages near the landing, either in the area west of the harbor or in the area east of it, at Horse Bay.

In the summertime on the harbor beach it is possible to find various kiosks at which to eat.
The immediate vicinity of the port also offers a good choice of bars, restaurants, stores and supermarkets.

Maiori is home to one of the widest beaches on the Coast, divided in two by the mouth of a river and made of sand and small pebbles that make it easily accessible to all. Here it is possible to rent umbrellas, deckchairs and sunbeds at one of the many tourist lidos present.
Alternatively, you can stay on the stretch of free beach.

The surrounding area offers numerous suggestive caves and bays that can be reached by boat. Among the many, it is worth mentioning the Bay of the Horse, with its small beach to much accorsed in summer, and the Pandora Cave, characterized by the presence of stalactites and stalagmites and the turquoise color of the water reflecting off the walls.
Maiori is the ideal starting point for sailing to one of the many resorts in the Gulf of Naples and Salerno: Amalfi is only 2 miles away, Sorrento is 22 and Naples 34.

The center of Maiori is small and pretty. The area is rich in the remains of ancient fortresses and towers that testify to the town’s medieval past.
Walking among steps and terraces, one can set off on an excursion to Mount Falerzio. In a succession of Mediterranean scrub, chestnut forests and evergreen vegetation, you reach the hermitage of Madonna dell’Avvocata, a point from which you can admire one of the most fascinating views of the entire coast.
