A safe harbor between Corsica and Sardinia
In the Bocche di Bonifacio natural park-one of the world’s 10 most beautiful underwater landscapes-is the port of Cavallo, named after the island of the same name that lies halfway between Corsica and Sardinia. This harbor is formed by a long breakwater that encloses within it three docks with several piers that can accommodate up to 230 boats with a maximum length of 35m.
Boaters find a mooring assistance service at their disposal, and qualified personnel guide boats to their assigned berth with the help of support rafts. There is also an information service that provides information on sea and wind conditions.
How to enter ports
Access to the ports is allowed from 8:30 a.m. until half an hour before sunset, and one must contact the port management at channel 09 for instructions. It is best to approach from the south, following the channel bordered by four red and green buoys, as outcropping rocks to the west and north of the island are dangerous.
