The Western Mediterranean marina
A striking natural bay located at the foot of the historic fortress that houses the royal palace of the Princes of Monaco, Port Hercule, used since antiquity as a major commercial port of call for the Romans and Greeks, is one of the few ports on the French Riviera to be on deep water.
Structure of the ports of Monaco
Hercule port is protected internally by two opposing piers, and externally by a counter pier and a massive seawall that made the pier well sheltered from the swells coming from the east.
The marina has 700 berths, distributed on piers, for the landing of sail and motor boats and yachts. 30 berths are designated for boats in transit.
The new seawall (a titanic semi-floating structure) is 352 meters long and, in addition to perfectly protecting the body of water from waves, can accommodate luxury mega yachts and tourist cruise ships up to 300 meters long.
Depth of the seabed
- Outer pier: 30 mt.
- Forefront: 40 mt.
- Swimming pool: 5 to 30 mt.
Docking must be done aft at the dock, with anchor at the bow; to access the port, follow the predetermined route, marked by buoys.
The fuel station and shipyard area are located on the left side of the area.
