Description

Located in the northwestern part of the island, near รŽle de Bagaud, Port de Port-Cros is the island’s only landing place.

The port has been organized within a narrow gully and offers two decks, plus an organized buoy mooring area, with 42 available berths and a draft depth that can range from 1.80 to 4 meters.
The natural conformation of the port offers excellent shelter against southeastern winds and currents, but has no shelter in the event of a mistral wind.

You are allowed to give anchorage with your anchor even outside the orgenized mooring area, as long as you do not stop in the channel access area of the ports and have a “clean” boat that complies with regulations on chemical toilets and black water storage compartment.

Boaters who land here can take advantage of an evening water distribution, which takes place between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., and of the public toilets, which, however, are equipped only with toilets and offer neither showers nor washbasins to be able to freshen up.

The harbor inlet lies within the wider anchorages of Port-Cros, and everything here is surrounded by a mannish, dense forest of Mediterranean vegetation and is overlooked by the imposing

In the eastern part of the bay you can find a few restaurants, a hotel, and a grocery store where you can stock up on major food items.

Since the 1990s, the coasts and seas of Port-Cros have seen the expansion of colonies of Caulerpa Taxifolia, a highly pest algae that can damage underwater flora.

The island’s authorities have managed to greatly reduce the presence of this algae in the Port-Cros area, but they still urge boaters to report any sightings of isolated colonies and to check their anchor very carefully when setting sail again: as the algae is highly infesting any plant residue should be removed immediately (but not thrown back overboard) to avoid taking the plant with them and allowing it to take root in another seabed.

The waters of the anchorages de Port-Cros are very rich in underwater fauna, and divers wishing to dive in the area may also encounter species that have become quite rare in French seas, such as the cicada and the grouper.

Densely covered with verdant forests and wilder than the neighboring island of Porquerolles, Port-Cros is an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts: there are numerous forts on the island, and from the top of the hilly paths, it is possible to enjoy breathtaking views.

It is also part of the Parc National de Port-Cros of the same name, an entity that is responsible for protecting the island’s ecosystem.

Close to the other islands of Hyรจres and not far from Breganรงon and the promontory of Giens, the Port de Port-Cros is an excellent landing point for those wishing to sail into the heart of the French Riviera.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
