Marina Romea

Marina Romea is located in the province of Ravenna in Emilia-Romagna on the Adriatic Sea. The marina is located at the mouth of the Lamone River and has two piers. On the south bank is the Circolo Nautico, which operates six piers each 35 meters long, and the right bank of the river is completely obstructed.

To enter the port one must keep to the right side, pass near the left bank, and go up the river for about 600 meters, where on the left side is the dock; at this point one must pass between the two breakwaters to the entrance to the marina. The Circolo Nautico di Marina Romea has a hundred members owning boats from 5 to 12 meters and has reserved indoor parking for members and patrons.

The premises offer all amenities, including a restaurant, restrooms, computer area, and gasoline and diesel fuel station. On land there is a 10-ton crane, a tractor for boat handling, a fully equipped workshop, and a hull pressure washer. The harbor grounds are periodically dredged to keep them tidy, and all docks are equipped with water, electricity, and lighting. The entire yacht club area is under 24-hour video surveillance and there is a night watchman service; the maximum number of small and medium-sized boats that can be moored is 111.

In winter at the port of Marina Romea there is often fog, and all year round and at nearby landings there is a great deal of commercial vessel traffic. Marina di Ravenna has the Corsini port and the Marinara port, a short distance south of Marina Romea, and the whole stretch of coast is intensely trafficked by commercial ships, tourist ferries, and boaters.

Marina Romea was founded in the middle of the last century and is one of the most elegant lidos on the entire Emilian coast. It is an oasis surrounded by greenery with many paths leading from the pine forest to the beach.

Behind a very peaceful and family-friendly setting is the Emilia-Romagna Po Delta Regional Park, a protected area established in 1988. Marina Romea is between Porto Corsini and Casal Borsetti and until the 1950s was an uninhabited marshy area. Following urbanization, a connecting road was built that is still the main boulevard of the town.

The name Marina Romea derives from State Road 309 Romea, which connects Mestre to Ravenna passing along the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is the main road axis that connects the Romagna Riviera with the Veneto region.
