In 1956 there was a wild strike on the edge of a bay near La Forêt-Fouesnant, populated by oyster beds or old mussel pens. The former co-founder and director of Glénans Sailing School, Henri Desjoyeaux, identified this site and decided to settle there. With his wife, he bought the land and established the first place for children’s pleasure boats. In addition to wintering in the shed, he expanded the business to repair, maintenance and painting.
