Description

A home for super and mega yachts: that’s the idea behind the Flisvos Marina, a “luxury” super port reserved exclusively for boats 15 meters and up. Way up: boats up to 180 meters in length can also dock in the port, welcomed in a dedicated pier where they can be accommodated sideways.

Just 6 km from the center of Athens, the marina is in a prime location in the Saronic Gulf, right at the foot of the historic city and within walking distance of the most beautiful attractions the gulf has to offer.

It is a port fit for the “big guys,” in every way: as an entrance (recently widened to facilitate safer transit), as services offered, as spaces, and as the quality of all of the above. The idea was to create a luxury port in a fortunate part of the Mediterranean that would be able to offer space for mega yachts and boats around for ocean cruises (and beyond). And the project was fully successful, thanks to the possibility of substantial investment and a precise choice of orientation.

The Flisvos marina was born in 2002 on the back of the business created by the Athens Olympics, which were to be held in 2004. A place was needed to accommodate the super yachts that would transit the area, and the old harbor was in need of redevelopment. Substantial investment (including from the Ministry of Development) made it possible to create a super harbor, with a 3800-square-meter area behind it dedicated to commercial and recreational space.

Its prime location, then, makes it a very convenient starting point for those wishing to visit the city of Athens. The historic center, the Acropolis, the archaeological museum, and other sites of interest are also easily accessible by transportation, through which the ports is well connected to the city (the Oulen bus stop is right outside the marina entrance).

Convenient starting point also for those who wish to explore by sea this beautiful area of Greece, with its numerous islands and islets and dream beaches.
The only drawback-which is then, we may say, the other side of the coin of its very fortunate geographical location-is the fact that moving around the sea area in front of Athens and near Piraeus is not exactly always relaxing, by virtue of the ever voluminous traffic.
A TSS (Traffic Separation Scheme) is in force in this area, so be careful when approaching, contact port personnel and get assistance for entry.

Athens Bay, besides being busy, is often subject to strong southerly winds that generate high and annoying waves. Precisely for this reason, a breakwater has been added to the south pier in recent years and, in addition, special attention has been paid to the northern part of the port’s exterior. Now the ports are well sheltered from all sea conditions.

Inland, Flisvos Marina offers berths for 303 boats; most berths are for 30-meter-long vessels, but there are also berths for smaller vessels (up to 15 meters) and much larger ones, up to over 70 meters. Giants, up to 180 meters in length, can moor along the south pier, where the depth reaches 12 meters.

Just to better manage port entrances and mooring maneuvers, which are not easy given the tonnage of the vessels passing through here, the port is equipped with a control tower located in the northern part of the port. The staff is multilingual and trained to handle emergencies, including in case of fire; the port has its own firefighting equipment.

Each berth is, of course, equipped with everything needed (220 and 380 V electricity, drinking water, telephone line), there is wi-fi connection in the port, and many other services such as helicopter landing strip, fueling station, first aid clinic, toilets and showers, grey and black water treatment station, garbage disposal, special waste and oils.
The port also has divers and qualified technical staff for maintenance and repair work.

Security plays an important role in the project. The Flisvos marina has a single access point that serves as entry and exit; there is the port police station, a CCTV system, guards, and 24-hour surveillance.
Parking lots serving the ports can accommodate up to 320 vehicles.

As mentioned, an extensive commercial area has been built behind the ports. More than thirty businesses such as stores, restaurants, and commercial offices are located in six edphic basses.
There is, of course, no shortage of boating services either, from electronics and equipment to brokers and charters.

Marina guests can turn to the VIP reception to take advantage of exclusive services dedicated to them: technical assistance, helicopter and limousine rental service, spa, agreements with 5-star hotels, and much more.

In the port’s green spaces, there is also a way to jog or relax with a walk; in fact, special attention has been paid to creating an “environmentally friendly” port, with lots of greenery and large, relaxing spaces.

Prices are appropriate for the service provided: if you want to get an idea, there is a handy calculator on the marina website that provides monthly and daily transit costs.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! Tuttobarche.it is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the Tuttobarche.it portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
