Port Camargue

Port Camargue is located along the coast of the Gulf of Lion (in Mediterranean France), in the municipality of Le Grau-du-Roi, in the Gard region.

It is the largest yachting ports in Europe. It is structured as a small harbor “city,” covering a large area and offering services, commercial activities, and green areas.
The total number of places available for boats is nearly 5,000. Of these places, 2761 are located in the public ports area, 2239 in the private marina, and 200 places are reserved for transient boaters.

The depth of the harbor bottom varies from the entrance to the port area to the docks, allowing access to vessels with a draft of no more than three to four meters.
The entrance is bounded by an access channel, marked by two lights – red and green. Anchoring is prohibited throughout the ports area and in the area in front of the port.

The port area is fairly protected from southerly winds, but the north wind can affect the area and affect boats in Camargue Harbor, especially those docked at the front piers.

The marina offers its boaters drinking water sources and electricity supply columns.
It has sanitary facilities and shower rooms located at various points of the landing (areas accessible only by a magnetic badge). It also has an area designated for waste and waste oil collection and bilge pumps for black water collection.

The shipbuilding area has three travelift, with maximum capacity of 5, 16 and 45 tons respectively, three docks, hauling areas, a mobile crane.

Camargue port customers can also take advantage of maintenance and cleaning work on their boats, repairs on engines and hulls, as well as a towing service for any broken-down boats and mooring assistance (upon request).
The Camargue port area also hosts a self-service gasoline and diesel fuel station, where one can fill up 24 hours a day.

The area is also protected by a video surveillance system and a night watchman service.

The port also offers the opportunity to avail of the services of buying and selling boats and nautical accessories, attend sailing courses and scuba diving sessions, and rent boats (sail or motor) and jetskis.
In addition, bicycles can also be rented here for a tour of the surrounding area.

Port Camargue also hosts supermarkets, stores, car parking, an Internet point and a rescue station.
Many other commercial activities can be found around the port.
The area of Le Grau-du-Roi hosts very accorsed beaches of the summer period. One of these is Le Grau-du-Roi beach a large fine sandy beach positioned between the Camargue and the Hérault beaches.

It has preserved its natural charm, thanks in part to the presence of the dunes surrounding it. On the beach you can find showers, toilets, kiosks where you can rent beach equipment, and a nearby parking lot.

The North Beach and South Beach are the closest to Port de Camargue, while another larger beach-positioned just south of the port area-is L’Espiguette Beach. It is more than 18 kilometers long and consists of sand. It is surrounded by dunes that can measure more than 10 meters, giving it a very “wild” appearance.

To find an even quieter and more unspoiled area, it is possible to go south, near the L’Espiguette lighthouse. Beyond the lighthouse area, it is also possible to stay on a naturist beach. Near the beach you can find parking spaces for cars (free or paid).
