ThePortde Canet-en-Roussillon is located along the coast of the Gulf of Lion (in Mediterranean France).
It consists of four mooring docks.
The favorable location, situated between the sea and the ponds of the Leucate Peninsula, protects the port area well.
The total number of places available for boats is 997 (some are reserved for passing boaters).
The port can accommodate boats with a maximum length of 35 meters, while the draft of the seabed varies, from 4 meters in the port access area to 3.5 meters present in the channel and docks, while in some areas it can go down to 2 meters.
In any case, the maximum draft allowed for a vessel in transit here is 3 meters.
Anchoring is prohibited throughout the ports area and in the area in front of the port.
The area is fairly protected from southerly and southeast winds. It is affected by tramontana winds and any strong winds from the northeast may make access to the port impossible.
The marina offers its boaters drinking water sources and electricity supply columns that can be used exclusively to recharge batteries to power their boats’ engines.
It has sanitary facilities and shower rooms scattered throughout many parts of the landing (areas accessible only by a magnetic badge).
It also has an area designated for waste and waste oil collection and bilge pumps for black water collection.
The weather report is published three times a day.
The shipbuilding area has a travelift with a maximum capacity of 35 tons, a squero that can bear up to 80 tons, a fixed crane that can lift a maximum weight of four tons, and storage spaces for small and large boats.
It also has hauling areas.
Ports of Canet-en-Roussillon customers can also take advantage of maintenance and repair work on their boats and repairs on engines as well as a towing service for any boats that break down.
The port area of Canet-en-Roussillon also houses a gasoline and diesel filling station, which – on a self-service basis – is available 24 hours a day.
The area is also protected by a video surveillance system and a night watchman service.
The port also offers the opportunity to use the services of buying and selling boats and nautical accessories.
The local harbormaster’s office-during the summer season-is open from 8 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays and weekends.
Port de Canet-en-Roussillon is surrounded by a large sandy beach. Stores, pharmacies, supermarkets and bus stops can be found in its surroundings.
The area of Le Canet-en-Roussillon offers many beautiful beaches.
The beach de la Jetรฉe is the first one located on the right bank of the port.
It is a large sandy beach, from which there is a view of the Pyrenees.
There are parking lots nearby, and in summer a rescue station can be found there.
It offers a restaurant and showers for its bathers.
The beach du Sardinal is closest to the left side of the port of Le Canet. It is a sandy beach with an active rescue station in the summer months, showers, toilets, and with the possibility of renting swimming equipment on site. It also offers a restaurant and several parking lots (free and paid) nearby. The presence of sand dunes with small patches of vegetation and its proximity to the center-which, however, has taken nothing away in terms of natural beauty-make it one of the most popular destinations on the Port de Canet-en-Roussillon coastline.
