Description

Port de Leucate is located along the coast of the Gulf of Lion (in Mediterranean France). It is located in the seaside area of Leucate (called precisely “Port Leucate”) and is one of the largest ports in Europe.

It consists of two large main docks and three other smaller docks. In addition, the port area hosts a naturist zone, where additional mooring places have been placed. The favorable location, situated between the sea and the ponds of the Leucate peninsula, protects the port area well.
The total number of places available for boats is 1270 (nearly 200 are reserved for transient boaters), and mooring is on floating mobile docks or fixed concrete docks.

The port can accommodate boats that have a maximum length of 23 meters, while the draft of the seabed varies, from 4 meters in the outermost area to 3 meters present in the channel and docks, ending with a depth ranging from one to 2 meters in the naturist area.
Anchoring is prohibited in the entire port area and in the area in front of it.

The area is affected by northwesterly winds and southeasterly winds, which can generate intense swell and make access into the harbor difficult. The conformation of the harbor, however, provides good protection for moored vessels.

The marina provides its boaters with drinking water sources and electricity supply columns, at the dock and on the piers.
It has sanitary facilities and shower rooms scattered throughout many parts of the landing (areas accessible only by a magnetic badge). It also has an area designated for waste and waste oil collection and bilge pumps for black water collection.

The shipbuilding area has three travelifts with maximum capacities of 6, 12 and 50 tons, several cranes and storage spaces for small and large boats. It also has two hauling areas and a slipway (for a fee).

Customers are also given spaces on land for small maintenance work and a self-service laundry.

The Leucate port area also houses a gasoline and diesel fuel station, self-service and open 24 hours a day.
The port also offers the possibility of using the services of specialized professional for maintenance and repair operations-mechanical, electronic, on sails and on engines-as well as buying and selling services of boats and nautical accessories.

The local harbormaster’s office-during the summer season-is open from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm.
The Port de Leucate is surrounded by a large sandy beach. Stores, hotels and restaurants can be found in its surroundings.
Adventurers who come here can also take advantage of sailing and diving courses and jetsky, bicycle and boat rental services.

The Leucate area offers many beautiful beaches.

Port Leucate beach is the closest to the landing. It is about two kilometers long and is encountered as soon as you leave the port area and head to the right. It is a fine sandy beach, close to the town center and accessible to people with physical disabilities. It offers its patrons showers, the possibility of renting swimming equipment, and a restaurant in the immediate vicinity. There are parking lots (for a fee) in the vicinity. It is a supervised beach during the summer period.

The beach du Galion is the closest to the center of Leucate and also one of the busiest. It is a light, fine sand beach, guarded, with two rescue stations. Its left side is the most frequented because it is closer to restaurants and businesses, while the one abutting the right cliff protects against the winds that affect the coast (which can become very strong on some days). It is accessible to people with mobility disabilities.

To the left of the entrance to Port de Leucate, however, is the naturist beach.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
