Porto di Alassio

The port of Alassio is located on the marina of the Ligurian town of the same name in the province of Savona. It is called Luca Ferrari and is well known and busy all year round to the point that in order to find a place you have to get on a waiting list.

Only transit boats up to 35 meters in length are allowed to moor, while sedentary boats can go up to a maximum of 30 meters. A total of 550 places are available, including state units, fishing units, sedentary boats and boats in transit.

The port is well equipped; in addition to all the essential services of marinas such as mooring assistance with Rubber Boats, there is a black water and bilge water intake station, a 40-ton fixed crane, stores, bars, restaurants, and a disco. You can consult a weather station via the Internet or a local weather station.

Frequenters to the ports of Alassio sail to Saint Tropez, Elba Island, Cap Corse, and the area is popular with sailing enthusiasts; there is a large community of sailors, and many summer marine events and national regattas are organized every year.

The ports are protected by a long, three-elbow breakwater and an elbow inner breakwater. There are also floating docks, which like the piers are equipped with bollards and rings for mooring. It is forbidden to moor at the outer part of the under-billow pier.

There is a breakwater at the entrance to the ports to which great care must be taken, and before approaching, contact the Marina di Alassio S.p.A. on Vhf channel 09. The boat club’s channel is 16.

Transit boats can have a maximum draft of 2.80 meters. The entire ports area is covered by Wi-Fi and there are three toilet areas complete with showers.

There are also diving centers that organize scuba diving on nearby Gallinara Island, about a mile away, and several sailing schools for adults and children. Since 2006 the Marina di Alassio port facility has been Blue Flag for landings.

Besides the Ligurian Sea, which offers endless wonderful areas, the hinterland of Alassio is also very interesting. Above the port is the votive chapel erected in honor of the fallen of the sea “Stella Maris,” and in the surrounding mountains is Tirasso, where the shrine of Our Lady of the Guard is located.
