Porto di Arenzano

Arenzano’s marina located southwest of the town consists of a main breakwater pier with docked and bollards and a sub-billow pier located at the northern end of the docks. The port accommodates cabin cruisers, yachts and offshore sailing boats in 220 berths for boats up to 20 meters. The facility with continuous access hours is equipped with all boating services and 24-hour assistance with slipway, slipway, fixed crane up to 2 tons and mobile crane up to 25 tons.

The ports mouth faces north; Tramontana and Grecale can make entry maneuvers difficult. On entry, one must pull over to starboard toward the green light at the head of the breakwater, paying attention to the shoal at the head of the breakwater marked by a buoy. The ports are subject to silting; Grecale causes undertow.

The town of Arenzano located on the coast of the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente within an inlet enclosed by the Capo San Martino stretches along the Aurelia road between the Cantarena and Lerone streams. An ancient medieval town with a stable year-round climate, it has become a seaside resort thanks to its beaches, pine forest and sports facilities. Between Arenzano and Punta Invrea there is a site of community interest where one can admire prairies of posidonia oceanica, an aquatic plant that produces fruits called sea olives. In 2008 the first underwater gymnasium in Italy was opened in the municipality.

Behind the village rises the Ligurian Apennines covered with typical Mediterranean scrub alternating with rocky gullies. Arenzano is home to the headquarters of the Beigua Park Authority, which includes numerous municipalities in the provinces of Genoa and Savona.

Arenzano beach, the first destination for those arriving from Piedmont and the Po Valley, is characterized by a sandy bottom and has numerous free stretches. The contiguity between sea and mountains gives rise to a coastline rich in inlets and coves. Numerous well-equipped bathing establishments, bars and restaurants can be found on the coast.

Milk and cheese are produced in the surrounding valleys. The area is best known for the production of honeys that participate each year in the Regional Competition Mieli dei Parchi della Liguria. The honey produced here has the characteristics of the flora of the Beigua Park, chestnut honey, acacia honey, heather honey, strawberry tree honey, and wildflower honey.
