Porto di Lavagna

The privately operated Port of Lavagna is located 1 km southeast of Chiavari and consists of a 1-km offshore pier and a breakwater pier. It is located in the center of the Tigullio Gulf in beautiful eastern Liguria and is a facility capable of accommodating 1,509 boats ranging in size from 8 to 51 meters. Services such as electricity and water are already included forfeitly in the rates. The facility has 1,400 berths, 140 of which are for transit, and it is prohibited to drop anchor and exceed a speed of 3 knots throughout the port.

The built-up area of Lavagna, behind the Port, with its historic medieval settlement, lies in the left alluvial plain of the Entella River (in the right one is Chiavari), closed upstream by a series of hills cultivated mainly with olive groves. The patron saint’s festival of Santo Stefano takes place on the first Sunday of August while other recurring events are the Sagra di San Leonardo in Cavi in March, the Sagra di Santo Stefano in August, the Sagra delle noci in September, and the San Simone fair in October.

The reception facilities of the place make utility for a wide range of services, and tourist activity revolving around the numerous hotels, residences, stores, bars, clubs and restaurants for all kinds and tastes remains Lavagna’s main economic resource.
