The port of Levanto is located in the eastern part of the inlet opposite the town in the province of La Spezia. At the entrance there is a small quay about 6 meters long whose use is limited to loading and unloading operations. There are also overhangs at the water’s edge to which great care must be taken.
Only medium-small boats are allowed to enter, and attention must also be paid to shoals and reefs facing the reef or within the inlet. During the summer season there are jetties operated by the Maritime Authority or the Levanto Special Company.
Access to the ports is allowed year-round, and the services available are numerous and comprehensive. There are 60 parca spaces on the catenaries and 400 ashore. The fuel station is 1 km from the landing, and there are toilets, showers, security guards, garbage pickup, and engine and hull repair at Piรจ di Legnano, 7 km away.
In the ports there are three mobile cranes up to 10 t and outdoor storage service. Levanto is located in a very beautiful stretch of the Ligurian Sea, between Deiva Marina and the Cinque Terre. Monterosso al Mare is 12 km away, and from there you can visit the Cinque Terre National Park, which partially covers the Levanto area.
The territory of the park has an area of almost 4000 hectares, stretching from Levanto to La Spezia and including a coastal zone and anatural marine protected area. The coastal environment is typically Mediterranean, and the mountains of the Ligurian Apennines overhanging the sea create a unique setting.
The marine protected area of the Cinque Terre runs from Punta Mesco in the west to Punta di Montenero in the east and includes numerous dive sites of great natural interest. The flora and fauna that can be admired are of incomparable beauty, both along the coast and underwater.
The area is among the most frequented in the world by boaters who also come from abroad to admire the beauty of the Cinque Terre. Tourist ships sail along this stretch of coast every day at all hours, and being able to find a quiet anchorage some days is very difficult.
There are many ferries shuttling from La Spezia or Portovenere to the Cinque Terre, and on some flat sea days the crowding of boats is considerable. Wanting to go ashore, there is no shortage of beautiful places to visit.
In addition to the nearby Cinque Terre, the town of Levanto is also very distinctive and preserves traces of human settlements since Roman times. There are numerous paths all along the coast in the midst of the mountains passing through breathtaking scenery.
