Marina di Rodi Garganico

Ports of Puglia in the Gargano promontory

In one of the most charming gulfs of the Gargano coast, opposite the Tremiti Islands, about 30 miles from the islands of Lagosta and 60 from Curzola, is the marina of Marina di Rodi Garganico, a safe harbor within the Gargano National Park of the same name.

Of all the ports in Puglia, and even among those in Italy, this marina is the closest facility to the Dalmatian coast of Croatia.

The ports’ facilities include.

  • Breakwater arm in the western area: this is the main breakwater.
It reaches a distance of 300 meters from the coast, extending with curvilinear gait for 700 meters.
This results in an inner basin of 60,000m2, well protected from northwesterly winds (and the prevailing mistral and tramontana swells), where sail and motor boats (between 8 and 45 meters) can safely moor even when weather conditions are not good.
  • Sub-billow arm: this is the secondary pier, extending eastward in the eastern area.
This extends the existing straight pier 150 meters out to sea.

Mooring and Yacht Services
The Marina of Rodi Garganico is one of the best equipped marinas in Puglia.
Boat landing is structured with floating docks and trappe, equipped with water and electricity.
Pleasure boats are moored at the tip, on fixed and floating docks, using the traditional catenary system.

Within the marina is the Yacht Service, a fully equipped area that can provide complete nautical assistance to pleasure boats in transit and stationed in berths.
Among the various services:

  • Boat careening operations
  • Service and repair of marine engines and on-board electrical systems
  • Indoor storage for small boats and yard storage available.

Portus Garnae
Until last century, the ruins of the ancient Roman port could be seen in the area adjacent to the current Apulian port.
Although the new port was opened in 2009, the application for the construction of the tourist port infrastructure was formally submitted in 1908.
