Porto di Margherita di Savoia

The port of Margherita di Savoia, is defined par excellence more as a marina. In that it does not possess in its main function, the gifts and intentions of a normal tourist, seaside or much less industrial port. The facility is proposed primarily as a fishing port. Its appearance is quaint and graceful, giving the coastal area a profile of sailors and seafarers.

In fact, the province of Foggia is often renowned for its beach life, thanks in part to the famous Manfredonia, which is very close by. The ports consist of two very long piers that are not dockable, however. However, the other two piers that protect the entrance to the dock, which is dedicated precisely to fishing boats, are.

Following a life, always busy, the marina manages to provide more than 200 berths, for boats up to 10 meters in length. The marina ‘s services are all dedicated to the needs of fishing vessel activities and can boast of many. Water, electricity, slipway, crane, toilet facilities, engine repair service and electrical repairs.

The marina, in addition, also has within the dock in which pleasure boats can dock, nautical facilities and a fuel tanker. These facilities and other dedicated services are given under concession by the Margherita di Savoia Nautical Center and Sport Nautica BIemme.

In the panorama of Apulian ports, the small port is considered an excellent reference point for experienced sailors and fishing boats. In fact, often, many vessels also coming from the Gargano port manage to find a secondary berth in the Manfredonia section, without losing too much sea. It remains to be said, however, that Margherita di Savoia also boasts. Marina Cala delle Sirene, nearby, giving the province of Foggia, excellent services nearby as well.

The structure of Margherita di Savoia, remains however, dedicated to experienced people. In fact, special care must be taken when entering the dock, between the two piers. The sandy seabed is often subject to undertow at low tide, and winds from the northern quadrant are very dangerous. Hence, when docking, it would be best not to proceed or to do so with caution, with the sea and wind stretched across.

The port of Margherita di Savoia may therefore also be called a small port, but it hides in its features, a very functional identity with a strong character. Giving the locality in the Apulian province, good credibility for the area’s fishing boats and pleasure boats that often trace the sea route between Manfredonia and Foggia.
