The marina of Perd’e Sali is located in the southern part of Sardinia in the municipality of Sarroch in the province of Cagliari. The marina is under concession to a private company, Saromar, and the relevant maritime authority of reference is that of Cagliari. In order to enter, one must obtain permission and abide by numerous prohibitions in force throughout the port area; in addition to the prohibition of fishing and bathing, anchors and buoys cannot be used, and the maximum speed allowed to enter is 3 knots.
The port is equipped with all services, including a 4-ton shore crane, electricity, water, and surveillance service. Within the port of Perd’e Sali there are five floating docks and two concrete piers, protected by a 250-meter-long breakwater and a 170-meter-long sub-billow pier. The seabed is a mixture of mud and sand; at the quay the depth ranges from 2.5 to 3 meters, while at the harbor mouth it reaches a maximum of 1.5 meters.
Perd’e Sali is a tourist resort 35 km from Cagliari and 4 km from Pula; it stretches along the coast and is surrounded by mountainous reliefs that separate it from the town of Sarroch, from which it is 7 km away. The marina is one of the landmarks of the southwestern area of Sardinia and is in the middle of two beaches, that of Porto Columbu and that of Perd’e Sali, both beautiful and not too busy.
Porto Columbu beach consists of sand mixed with coarse-grained gravel, and the area suitable for bathing is near the port. The seabed soon becomes deep and the beach is equipped with all amenities: bar, restaurant, deckchair and umbrella rental, and ample parking. When the wind blows, this beach and that of Perd’e Sali are frequented by surfers and wind-surfers, who enjoy racing their boards through the waves at incredible speeds.
When the sea is calm, it is snorkelers and scuba divers who frequent the entire area, and those who enjoy fishing can go hunting for large bream and bass; the rocky areas are full of shellfish and octopus, which are also served in the many seafood specialty restaurants in the area.
The seabed in front of Perd’e Sali beach is shallow and slopes gently to a pebble and sandy shore. This beach has the characteristic of never being overcrowded, even in the hot months of July and August, and is as well equipped as that of Porto Columbu.
