Porto Di Alghero

Alghero – Ports of Sardinia

Located under the walls of the historic center of the city of the same name, the port of Alghero, Sardinia, can give berthing to vessels up to 70 meters in length.
The port facility is protected by two piers each 850 meters long:

  • The New Subwaterside Pier: originating from the latter are the Lo Frasso Pier and the North Pier
  • The south pier

In the northeastern part of the port, between the sub-billow pier and the Millelire dock, there is the New Dock reserved for fishing boats, with depths of 2 meters, within which there are a number of floating docks.
The tourist dock, containing floating docks dedicated to recreational boating, is located between the Garibaldi Dock and the North Pier.
As for commercial operations and pleasure boats in transit (up to 50 meters), two docks located in the southern area of the port are dedicated to them.

The Port of Alghero is located in a strategic and interesting area as it is only a few miles from the most beautiful Mediterranean tourist resorts, and for this reason it is an important transit and junction point for boats.

Areas reserved for recreation

  • North pier dock (from the outer side), maximum draft of 4.50 m, two concrete panels of 100 meters each from which 7 floating docks depart.
  • the Customs Quay: has a length of 39 meters and a maximum draft of 3.80 meters.
  • the Sanità Quay: has a length of 112 meters and a maximum draft of 3 meters.
  • Garibaldi Quay: 210 meters long, divided into two parts
    • First part, with three floating docks, 110 meters long and maximum draft of 1.80 mt.
    • Second part, with two floating docks, 100 meters long and maximum draft of 3.50 mt.
  • Marina di Sant’Elmo: dock located inside the southern part of the port of Alghero. It has 100 berths, for units up to 70 meters.
  • More recently built floating docks for boaters. Alghero jealously preserves and guards the soul of the typical seaside towns, those in which to find oneself strolling to be inundated by the sea scent of water and salt in a timeless atmosphere made up of cobbled streets that get lost among them. And among the large yachts to be intrigued by the ancient fishermen’s boats that tell of stories lost among myths and legends of the Port of Alghero.
