Cala dei Normanni is a dry port dedicated to minor boating. Located at the western end of the Gulf of Palermo, more specifically within the Arenella district, the port is particularly convenient due to its proximity to the city: the well-connected historic center of Palermo is only 4 km away. Maritime station and railway station are located 3 and 5 km from the port, respectively.

The area in which Cala dei Normanni is located is characterized by a very ancient history: an important crossroads of cultures, here it is possible to admire ancient and modern settlements and choose from a large number of itineraries designed to allow discovery and exploration of the area.

Cala dei Normanni is dedicated to dinghies and small boats, with a maximum allowed length of 10 meters. The marina provides 90 berths on fixed and floating docks (equipped with running water, electricity, and compressed air to be able to inflate the dinghies) during the summer period; for the winter season, the port is equipped with a masonry dock that can accommodate up to 15 boats.

Boaters are guaranteed 24-hour dockside assistance and a hauling and launching service until 4 p.m.; they can also call on the assistance provided by thespecialized mechanical workshop inside the port, which is also operational on Sundays and holidays. The area dedicated to storage is 5,000 square meters, 1,000 of which are covered, and can accommodate about 200 boats.

The entrance to the marina is located 2 miles north of the port of Palermo and consists of two docks: the new dock is located to the east, while the entrance to the old dock is to the west. The marina entrance is clearly visible thanks to the white lighthouse, which projects light from its position on the breakwater.

There are numerous services within the port: boaters will have access to bars, an internet point, and diving centers offering the possibility of renting small boats and jet skis. The port is also equipped with wi-fi internet in the dock areas and floating docks (for a fee beyond the first 30 minutes) and private parking.

Cala dei Normanni is the largest dry port in Sicily. Management advises boaters to use 091540264 or 091544732 to book the launching of their boat so as to reduce the waiting time to a maximum of 15 minutes even during the busiest days.

Moored boats are closely monitored both during the day and at night by port staff through the use of numerous CCTV cameras placed throughout the dock.

In case of adverse weather conditions, the management reserves the right to pull all boats ashore even without prior notice to ensure their protection.

When boats are hauled out to dry land, they undergo a rigorous inspection by the specialized staff of Cala dei Normanni. First, it is checked that the hull, appendages, and propulsion apparatus are intact; next, the workers use fresh water to rinse the parts of the boat that have been in contact with seawater and make sure that on-board electrical equipment is turned off and disconnected. A special log is carefully filled out to ensure that these operations are carried out properly.
